Wednesday 25th of March 2020 EMLab deployed a mobile lab unit to the City of Weiden in Oberpfalz to set up a diagnostic unit for SARS-CoV-2 in the general hospital of Weiden (Klinikum Weiden). The laboratory and lab staff team was transported by THW Hamburg (Bundesanstalt Technisches Hilfswerk - Federal Agency for Technical Relief) to Weiden and the set up was supported by THW Weiden. EMLab will support urgent SARS-CoV-2 diagnostics at the KH Weiden by providing analysis for 100 samples per day by molecular diagnostics. EMLab on site is attached to the diagnostic laboratory department of the general hospital.
